About
Welcome! This site exists to support people who struggle with both money and mental health challenges. This is a place where personal finance and mental health support meet, and where you’ll discover how to navigate what it’s like to handle money during burnout, anxiety, and depression.

I’m Joseph Fraser. I’ve created tools and I cover topics that can help you improve your finances and protect your mental health at the same time, all for nothing. Free.
Financial recovery is possible for anyone. I’m living proof. These tools and articles that I write are designed to help you during poverty, mental health struggles, and in times of crisis.
Few people can understand what it’s like to be in survival mode, eating ramen for dinner because you’re living paycheck to paycheck, or being admitted into the psych ward because you’re tired of living.
I’ve lived through it, just like you’re living through it right now probably. I understand first hand what you’re going through.
I know how difficult money can be when you’re at your lowest point in life. My years in the military, combined with mental health struggles and poverty, shaped the tools and topics that I’ll share with you here.
I teach that every small choice you make in life slowly builds off itself and compounds over time, just like money. All of this grows with you as your stability improves, just like mental health.
This place is a support system that connects mental health and money with emotional balance and financial stability, all together as one.

“I’m not a therapist or financial advisor. I’m someone who’s lived through both sides of poverty and recovery. Everything I share is backed by credible research, verified sources, and or my own personal experiences. Compound Choices is made to work alongside therapists & financial advisers, not to replace them.“
